Submissions - We Want Them

Would you like to appear in Big Eyes Issue Two? We’re looking for creative, ambitious souls to interview and feature. Submissions of life writing, fiction, travel writing, illustrations, photography and articles on any theme are more than welcome. If you’ve read a book recently that you want to rave about, or if there is a film which has left its mark on your soul, write in and let us know. You can come to us with pitches, ideas or completed submissions.  We’re keen to publish work which features mental health, careers, the environment and creativity, but we’re also open minded and would like you to show us whatever it is you have under your wing. We’re also interested in featuring snapshots of original, innovative businesses, be it a brand new venture, or one that has been around for many moons.

We would love you to help us shape the future of Big Eyes. We want to be inspiring, different and courageous We want to be the magazine you crave. The magazine which motivates you to try something different, and to look closer at the world around you. It’s pretty fucking spectacular, and you are a part of it.  

We also like to feature new and exciting stuff on our blog. So email over what you are getting up to in the world and we might just put you up.

We like spontaneity here at Big Eyes, but there are some specifics that we’d like to see in the next issue. If any of these click with you, get to work and send us what you create:

• Your favourite childhood film. (500 words)
• The worst job you’ve ever had, and what you learnt from the experience. (500 – 1,000 words)
• Book reviews. (500 – 1,000 words.) 
• The first CD you ever bought. (500 words)
• Where do you want to be in five years time and how you intend to get there. (500 – 1,000 words)
• Illustrations of your travels. (4-6 images)

2.      Please put the word ‘Submission’ in the subject line.

3.      Please include your name and contact details in your email.

4.      Times New Roman Font and double spacing for written submissions.

5.      Please send photos and art work as jpegs.
